Have you considered the possibility that part of our spiritual journey of awakening consists of tests?

I’ve considered this possibility and I can say that being in the consideration space is much more acceptable than the actual experience of being tested.

Since my husband and I took the leap of faith to start our business, Balanced Is, five years ago, we have been on a path that has taken us to our darkest nights of our soul and back again. There have been times when we questioned our leap, and even at times questioned our faith. Yet we are still here and because of this journey thus far we have personally grown and evolved in ways we could not have imagined.

I have experienced that being vulnerable to the unknown will provide opportunity after opportunity to learn what has yet to be learned, to heal what has yet to be healed, to accept what has yet to be accepted, to embrace what has yet to be embraced, and most of all, to trust where trust has yet to be found.

At times it appears as if my life is full of opportunities, and it is, and I am grateful for these opportunities. Although at times I feel as if I continue to be tested to see just how many opportunities I’m paying attention to and how many I am embracing.

Having faith and trusting that there is a greater purpose for all that we are being presented with, reminds us individually and together of the decision we made long ago to be on this spiritual journey.

As I mentioned about our taking the leap of faith into starting our own business and honoring what we believe is part of the work we are here to do in the world, the spiritual aspect of our vision has been easy to embrace, yet the challenges that have come with this vision have been questionable at times. Living on credit cards, and on half, if not less than half the income we were accustomed to has given each of us the “opportunity” to get in touch with and transcend the core fears that this situation has brought up for us.

We have individually and together embraced these fears, worked through them with different modalities, and for a brief moment, or so it feels this way, we get to breathe and see the light at the end of the tunnel.

And then, the tests start coming, and the light at the end of the tunnel gets further away. We try to make sense of it all, we question what we are not getting, and what lesson we have not yet learned—which keeps showing up again and again.

Having faith and trusting that there is a greater purpose for all that we are being presented with, reminds us individually and together of the decision we made long ago to be on this spiritual journey, to let go of what we thought we knew, and embrace the unknown with all of its unforeseen ways of providing for us exactly what we need to evolve and to awaken to the magnificent life we came here to experience.

So, if you feel you are being tested, embrace the gift that comes with it. And remember that this is a test, this is only a test.
